Is it normal to love beans in spite of farting risk?
First of all, I never get too much of a farting problem from beans, but I love em. I also like to take what is already done with cans, etc. but do it better my own way. What I mean by that is that for example, instead of buying canned franks and beans, I'll boil my own beans and add sliced franks, and even though it's more work, it's better tasting this way and I'm more generous with the franks than the cans are. I've gotten bags of dried black beans and pinto beans free from food pantry, so I already got the beans free of charge. I know it takes a few hours to boil them and cook them that way, but that doesn't matter, it ends up tasting better this way.
Besides the franks and beans I mentioned, I'll also make my own style BBQ beans by just adding BBQ sauce (either hickory or hot) to them after they're cooked and then I add bacon, alot more bacon than you'd usually get. Or my own style pork and beans, but unlike the cans which don't even really have any pork, I'll broil a couple pork chops, cut em up and mix them into the beans, add sliced onion, peppers, and seasonings.
Even though it takes longer to make this way, it tastes better this way, I get to be more generous with the meat, and seasonings, sauce, etc., and I already have the bags of dried beans I got free from the pantry.
