  • It might be odd, but I dislike my mind being altered by drugs, good or bad or even taking any medication for that matter.

    • I understand your point, but you don't necessarily need medication to treat depression. Depending on your reasons for depression, the circumstances and everything, things like cognitive behavioural therapy might work just as fine for you.

    • Drugs are not the only opinion. As qwerty said, look up other options like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; it works just as well as drugs, if not better, in clinical trials and doesn't rely on being dependant on medication. If you do have depression, the last thing you should do about it is nothing at all.

      • I agree with all of the above. It's called detachment and indicates a psychological problem. You don't have to the drugs, and a psychologist can't prescribe them anyway, so get some help. Hope you feel better.

    • If you have bad depression, those drugs are worth it! I have bipolar disorder, and NEED my mind to be altered. There are medications you can get that don't have terrible side effects.

    • That's understandable, but if you don't then there is a good possibility that it could get worse. You don't want to live like this.
