yes this is normal, i know so many people this has happened to! i'm paranoid about it every time i get a stomach virus so if my tummy is upset at all, i'll get sick in a trash can (empty with a new bag in it of course) or if it's dry heaves just hang over the tub but keep my butt on the toilet. my friend said that happened to her and she was so embarrassed b/c she was too sick to clean it up and her sis had to clean up her and her mess.
