I love my fake life more than my real life, and I don't know wether lots of People so this or if I'm sick . I have imaginary friends and a boyfriend and I don't know wether it's normal or not

  • I'm the same way but it's not normal. People like you and me are a rarity. We are more common on the internet though.

  • I am sick and tired of human beings being diagnosed with this or that. Sure some are legitimate, some i believe is just fodder. Wikipedia helped me to find out what kind of sickness i have and ill tell you, i can live in an imaginary world whenever i want to (mid twenties) the same way i used to when i was a kid. I always played alone, no siblings no friends.

My imagination saved my life, somehow still does.

It does not however stop me from living a normal adult life, hats off to my parents for showing me a life with discipline and earned privileges. More parents should look into this...

  • I'm not comparing people that do, but Mental Disabled people live in there own world.
I was told by someone that works with mentally disabled children.

    • I have high-functioning autism and I spend all of my alone time living in my imaginary world, hanging out with my imaginary friends.

My mom has speculated that what separates me from people with more severe forms of autism is that I can snap out of living in my imaginary world if and when I need to, whereas the other people can't.

  • I live in my head a lot but I can distinguish between my dippy thoughts and dreams and the not so nice reality.

It's okay to be dreamy but don't lose sight of actuality.

  • I sometimes think IIN itself is an imaginary world.

  • I think that it is safe, healthy, and normal to dream even impossible things. But, I think that it starts to get unhealthy, unsafe, and abnormal when you start living in a fantasy world and lose focus of what is happening in your actual life.

  • Well if it's a fantasy world to the extent that you have friends and a boyfriend that don't exist then that is definitely abnormal. I wouldn't worry about it unless it's detrimental to you in some way, which I'm inclined to say that it is, but I have no valid reason for that. It just feels like it would become a placebo for what really exists, and I feel it can be dangerous to travel too far from reality. Why do you like this fantasy world more than the real one?
