If someday he discovers that he sees you the same way you see him, you can have a truly wonderful relationship: friends that love each other in a love that has grown together can be an amazing thing.
It may not happen, though. At least not until you find someone else and he realizes that he may lose what he has. And if it doesn't happen, that's ok, too.
