Is it normal to like the smell of old people?

Since I worked in a nursing home, two years ago from now, I started to like the smell of those places, of one especially.

So since I quit my job there I really started missing it so I began going there in my free time. Usually I combine it with outside walks or after shopping. Most of the time I spend like one or two hours there, playing with the seniors of the place and enjoying the scent.

For me it was completely natural until my wife accused me of cheating for staying away so long some weekends, so I told her about it. At first she didn‘t believe me but most people there know me already and could ensure her that I‘m there playing with the elder on weekends.

At home she became really mad and now wants me to stop my, in her words „disgustingly sick hobby“ - so what am I gonna do, for I‘m afraid of loosing her... So is normal to feel that way?
