  • I like it too. And everytime I get a big snowstorm I always get posts from friends telling me how warm it is down south where they live. that's great but not once have I had to worry about boarding up my house, evacuating inland, or worry about all my possessions being blown out to sea during hurricane season. Hahaha.

  • Why would this not be normal? I love winter but I live in California and there is 0 snow where I live so that sucks.

  • I hate winter. It feels oppressive and soul-deadening.

  • I like a brutal winter followed by a cold, rainy start to March.

  • Same here. Pity it doesn't snow in my town.

  • For me, winter is fine, as long as I have somewhere warm to live and I don't have to worry about the costs of heating the house.

Snow is nice to look at, but I hate walking or driving in it.

Winters in Britain tend to be gloomy and wet. It gets depressing when the sun hasn't been seen for three weeks.

  • It's normal though not for everyone. I personally love winter.

  • Of course this is normal. I feel the same, actually. I just get better vibes during the winter.

  • I like the winter because it's an excuse to stay in & buy a new duvet. To festoon your front room with fragranced candles & have scalding hot (tomato) soup in front of the tv. And make comfort food in general. Hate the dark evenings & mornings. leave the house to go to work in the dark & when you leave work, the same.

When I was younger we used to get snow you had to measure in feet rather than in centimetres now. I like the really frosty mornings, the enchanting white patina that coats everything. the cold air biting the lungs and the crunchiness underfoot.

But most of all I crave the welcome sight of snowdrops, followed by daffodils that reassuringly tell everyone that winter is finally in retreat.
