This is a compulsive behavior called trichotillomania where people pull their own hair from places like the scalp, eyebrows, eyelashes, or pubic area. people with this bx inspect the hair after pulling it out and about half put the hair in their mouths after pulling it. some people realize they have this habbit...others dont even pay attention to it.
