Is it normal to like hentai and furrys more than real life girls?

I have talked to guys who prefer furry porn and hentai many times for long periods of time, and my opinion on it is this; certain males feel that they like drawn things better than real girls because the drawn girls(and boys) cannot reject them, unless your imagination really hates you that is!
If by real life you are referring to the females you interact with on a regular basis think about it this way; they are not spending their whole existence trying to be what you feel is sexy, I'm sure there are at least a few girls that you would find arousing if they were nude or nearly so, draped across your desk, touching themselves and saying all the the things that you love to hear.
My fiance didn't really find many women interesting until he met me, so maybe you haven't found the right type of real girl yet.
May I suggest furry conventions as a place to look? Those girls that dress up as anthros...well they can be much more fun than something you can never touch, kiss, lick, or bite ;)

I agree with ChaoticKitty, it is entirely normal to prefer hentai/animations to "the real thing",but if I may, I'd like to add another view. Think of it, most characters in hentai (and most anime) are catered to a specific audience. Depending on the audience, the characters may change a bit, but each type has a certain genre. These genres tend to have characters designed as the perfect modeled human (male or female). Generally, most women have "perfect" body structure closely resembling that of a Barbie doll: defined breasts and hips. Most anime men follow this example with Ken-like physical characteristics (Washboard abs, defined muscles and pecs, thin, etc. ...take your pick). This is emulated in most live-action pornography as well, but much more easily achieved in animations.

Now, going along with the comment, ChaoticKitty states, "[live women] are not spending their whole existence trying to be what you feel is sexy...nude or nearly so, draped across your desk, touching themselves and saying all the the things that you love to hear." This is another reason you could be so attracted to an animation, rather than a live woman. Because most women are not nymphomaniacs/fighting for your attention in particular (or you are not the main character in a harem anime/hentai). While it is more common for women to have more and more sex appeal in their attire, they are not vying for just your attention, but everyone else' too.

As for the "..saying all the things that you love to hear" part, you can blame one of two people: the scriptwriter or the foley artist. The scriptwriter is secretly trying to make you place yourself into the role of the main character or the character you most identify with. This technique is used in any script. The more you feel one with the world, the easier you will most likely adopt the world. This can also be done by giving the character a shadow that covers the top half of a face (so that you may more easily insert yourself into that character's shoes, kind of like an avatar).

The foley artist is responsible for making sounds pleasing to the mind and the ear (less likely the latter); something that can be more easily identified than what you may actually hear (like a movie punch versus a real punch). Also, the extra dialogue inserted in short burst while the characters are having sex can be added by either one (or sometimes the editor) to fill in for seemingly absent dialogue. Notice, most hentai has more dialogue during sex scenes than most live pornography. While some may be scripted, others added to make a scene less awkward due to lack of dialogue (including moans and grunts), remember that most live-action pornography has a real woman and man that wants/prefers to be pleased. Since this can take much longer than a scripted scene in a hentai, the scenes become much longer (unless you want weird looking jump cuts). Let's not forget that as intercourse professionals, orgasms can become harder and harder to achieve and take longer than the sex-starved public. They can also be more immune/numb to the pleasure, like running more often builds endurance.

Since most live-action pornography dislikes jump cuts and recognizes that an actual orgasm is much better than a faked one, most live-action pornography takes a single scene rather than making a script. Literally, the script can consist of "Lonely woman takes advantage of pool boy." Since there is so little time to devote to a good story arc (and let's face it, most porn stars aren't hired for their acting ability) and animation can make erratic jump cuts more fluidly than a porno, you could find yourself more interested in hentai than live-action porn. Don't forget though, hentai can have just as bad acting as a porno. Also, it seems that live-action pornography is more detail focused (i.e. sexual organs) rather than story/character focused.

An affection for inanimate creations is still considered taboo in most sociological environments and can set off a sort of thrill for breaking a rule and deviance from society. Anthropomorphic/furry affections breaks two sociologically accepted norms and combines two taboos (affection for inanimate creations and bestiality), which is why it can still be found attractive. However, the fact that pornography in any form is still considered fantasy, anything could technically go, and your mind accepts this with furry interactions.

Lastly, by a technicality, pornography in general is considered taboo. Due to the fact that we view pornographic images in a private manner, as well as engage in sexual intercourse and masturbation, pornography is voyeuristic. It's like watching someone in a private act without their permission (which is also socially taboo). However, the more you accept a taboo, the more you deviate from social norms, which is why you could follow this path: Live-Action pornography -> Hentai -> Anthropomorphic pornography -> beastiality (This is just an example. Some could follow to other paths such as "Soft-core" -> hardcore -> Bondage -> S&M -> Rape)

While some may find it weird that someone can have an affection for non-real objects or even prefer them to "the real thing", it's still psychologically normal. Sorry for the long post, but I hope this clears things up for you as well as others.
