My daughter is still a few years away from being old enough to get involved with boys, but I do worry a little about how that's going to be for her, since height-prediction algorithms suggest she's going to be at least 5'10" (178 cm) as an adult.
Unusually tall women have all sorts of problems everywhere, and we live in Wales where the local genepool seems to result in people being rather shorter than the UK average. At eleven, she's already taller than many adult women here and some men.
I tell myself that any guy who's too insecure to consider being with her because she's taller than him is the sort of guy I wouldn't want her to be with anyway, but I anticipate that she may end up suffering more than her fair share of teenage heartaches just because her parents are both taller than average and she was well-nourished as a child.
