How could a priest possibly help you? Do you believe you self-harm because you're possessed by a demon?
It's difficult to be sure exactly how many young people self-harm, but it's believed that as many as 20% might do it at least once. But just because a lot of people do it, that doesn't mean it's normal. No matter how well you care for your wounds, deliberately harming your own body is no healthier than binge drinking, extreme dieting, seeking relationships with toxic people or any other form of self-damaging behaviour.
There's no single reason why people self-harm, but two things are certain: it's a sign that something is wrong, and cutting is not addressing the underlying problem.
