Is it normal to like cutting myself?

I often cut myself with various sharp objects, sometimes razors, sometimes knives, sometimes it’s pulling rope tight against my skin till it breaks. Nomatter how I do it, I just like feeling the pain and seeing myself bleed. I take good care of the wounds and I’m not depressed or anything, I just think it feels great. Is this normal? If not, should I see a doctor, or a priest first?

How could a priest possibly help you? Do you believe you self-harm because you're possessed by a demon?

It's difficult to be sure exactly how many young people self-harm, but it's believed that as many as 20% might do it at least once. But just because a lot of people do it, that doesn't mean it's normal. No matter how well you care for your wounds, deliberately harming your own body is no healthier than binge drinking, extreme dieting, seeking relationships with toxic people or any other form of self-damaging behaviour.

There's no single reason why people self-harm, but two things are certain: it's a sign that something is wrong, and cutting is not addressing the underlying problem.

You should not harm yourself, so I recomend confessing your sin to a priest (as hurting yourself is a sin) and just stopping.

Actively harming yourself for pleasure is definitely not normal in the slightest. It may feel great to you, but some day you could end up cutting a vital blood vessel which could lead to some serious life threatening complications. I would strongly suggest you seek help from a psychiatrist if this has become habitual for you, because you have to admit there is definitely something not right if you feel pleasure in hurting yourself...

Doctor first, I often believe the church just makes you push those feelings down further and not erase them.....The doctor, if he is good, can’t get you the help you need.
And the more often you hurt yourself, the more you want to do it, try keeping it at a max you can’t overdo for now...
