I don't think it's common but I don't see the harm in doing something like that if you enjoy it. I don't see a reason to qualify the question with your sexual orientation though, this suggests an insecurity.
The only reason I did is because if I was gay then I feel people would assume that I liked cum. I think it is more common for a gay man to like cum then a straight man. I'm not insecure about it though
