No, this is not normal, but things can get better. Everyone lies and no exception but some lies are bigger and dangerous than some others. Saying " yeah I'm seeing my family today so I can't go shopping with you " to one friend because you are not in a mood for going out is not the same thing as lying about an abusive relationship that doesn't even exist. The best thing to do is also the hardest. You have to explain everything to them and apologize. But more important. Why did you need to lie about those kind of things ?
