Lying is one of those vicious circles. Not only does it keep building, it becomes impossible to remember all the lies so your stories become inconsistent.
I think the greater question is why you feel the need to "fit in" or seek their approval. We are all individuals and it is that individuality that makes us interesting to others. We should all move at our own pace, not allow others to dictate our progress.
Obviously, you will get a BF one day, when it's right for you.
If these friends won't accept you as you are, then they are not frien0ds at all, just acquaintance and you shouldn't give a damn what they think.
