To be honest I think you're over thinking it. Why is sex so important these days? I think that if you want to have sex and you have the urge to be with someone just do it. You don't have to love someone to have sex with them. The first time I had sex was when I was fairly young, but i stayed with that person for two years and don't regret it to this day. I don't know what love is and to be honest I don't think people know what love is til you are put in a situation where you are going to lose everything. Live life to the fullest and stop making sex such a big deal. We don't have that much time to make the most of what life has to offer so have fun.

Also maybe forget this friend and do mit will someone else he knows your situation and might just want bragging rights which would make you feel even worse - when it happens enjoy
