  • There is a condition called pseudobulbar affect(PBA)that has similar manifestation. It is attributed to brain injury and can be caused by a stroke. I have had neither, but have a similar problem. Occassionally when I am laughing really hard it turns into crying - not the "i laughed so hard I cried" type of crying, but sudden unexplained feeling of sadness. We are not "crazy." brains are complex and emotions are so closely linked. For example fear & excitement create the same physiological response.
