    I'm very open-minded regarding friendships so I would say it's normal to my eyes. 'Normal' is something defined by our communities. It just means that you care a lot about your friends.
    I know your problem very well (I like to cuddle and being petted. This causes very unusual situations).

    If you're French, and you kiss on the cheek as a greeting that is normal. If you kiss on the mouth that's not normal unless you're homosexuals.

    I would ask about your ages, but you might just be in that experimental age where 50% of something is better than 100% of nothing. (At a point you will take what you can get if it fulfills your urges at the moment.)
