Is it normal to kiss your dog?

I mean kiss your dog on the mouth but NOT in a weird way. Just loving kisses like the ones you’d give to a baby.
I always kiss my dog on the mouth because I adore him and he is like a baby. I’ve always done it but recently my boyfriend saw me (he’s seen me do it plenty me times before) and later told me he kept thinking about me kissing my dog. He says I have a mental problem, like a crazy cat lady or something. And now he’s kinda avoiding me touching him (like he feels disgusted).
I just do it to express my love for my dog but now I feel extremely awkward. I’d appreciate your insight.

I'll kiss dogs heads but no mouths thank you :/

I know people who do. I think it's gross, but I don't think they're insane or anything.

Your bf sounds like a dick.

Slowly do subtle things to convince him that you have a "special" relationship with the dog. And then eventually, when enough doubt is in his mind, ask him if you can have a three way with the dog.

I mean on its mouth. Not inside, that would be really weird.

Some people thinks it’s gross because of germs or whatever. I don’t give a fuck I still kiss my dog on the mouth and nose and let her lick my face. It’s not sexual. There’s nothing wrong with you. It’s one way you express a normal affection for your dog. I’d be more worried about him to be honest... he’s the one making it seem sexual and making you feel uncomfortable about it....I’d instantly turn it around on him and ask why he has such a perverted mind towards animals. Make him uncomfortable to show that that’s a ridiculous concept. Plus if the dog came first... sorry buddy but you don’t get to make the dog owner feel insecure in themselves. Anyway, that being said my fiance doesn’t see our dog like a baby in the same way I do, but he’s never made me feel gross for kissing my dog. (Again, yes germs are brought up but he got the fuck over that real quick) don’t let some douche make you feel uncomfortable. If there is no arousal and you kiss that pup in a way you’d kiss your child then I’d say you’re good. Just keep doing what you’re doin and he will hopefully eventually realize he’s just being a dumbass and there’s nothing wrong here. Ps I assume he’s like 17-19 or something cause that’s straight childish to think what he thinks I’m my opinion.

I kiss my dog all the time.. not on the mouth but she always tries to lick mine when I pick her up lol.. I understand where you’re coming from though. I love dogs so much, I swear they’re better than most people I’ve encountered 😂

My friend kisses her dogs, it's both gross and adorable. I gave you a normal anyway, lots of people do it.

We used to have this mean cat named Rosie. She was mostly toothless and had no claws but she acted mean and tough. Sometimes she would alk by and hiss so I would pick her up and say, "Rosie. Where's my kiss? I think Rosie wants a kiss on the nosey!"

Usually afterwards she would walk away and hiss in disgust.

I'm not a dog person. I can't imagine every kissing a dog anywhere, and people who treat their dog as their little furry baby seem to me pretty sad.

I've come across videos of people going the whole hog with dogs and kissing with tongues. That strikes me as weird, but what the hey... their mouth and their dog. I wouldn't want to kiss a woman immediately after she did that and I'd let her know I thought it was pretty odd, but it's not like I'd avoid touching her ever after. From what I've read, it's a myth that dogs' mouths are cleaner (in the sense of having less bacteria) than humans, although it is far more likely you'll pick up bacteria or viruses that cause problems for humans from kissing another person. Still, though, they use their tongues to clean themselves, and dogs will eat the most disgusting stuff given half a chance.

The fundamental point here is that you like kissing your fur-baby, and your boyfriend has serious problems with that. The consensus view of what's "normal" and what isn't is irrelevant; this is about you and him. Since it sounds like his reaction is based on gut-level instinct, you'd probably have problems getting him to see things differently.

So I think it really is a case of him or your dog.

I think the 'dog's mouth is cleaner than a humans' has a lot to do with the fact that we can catch way more shit from people that we can from animals.

If you have been bitten by both you will find that doctors run a gamut of test for all the possible infections from the human bite. The place where you were bitten will swell and bruise like you wouldn't believe.

A dog bite leaves puncture wounds and as long as it isn't rabid, doctors aren't too concerned.

It's OK but can cause an accident when you Dog tries to kiss other people and bumps their face or head with a Canine tooth accidently and they claim your Dog bit so not the safest habit.
