Is it normal to just completely hate yourself?
I always feel TERRIBLE about myself. Putting myself down, criticizing my weight, wishing I was like someone else, and I'm ALWAYS beating myself up.
Is this normal?
And how do I overcome it?

I think this is normal, but for some it can be harder to overcome. Cognitive Therapy has recently come to be a very successful method to help people to overcome such dysfunctional and distorted thinking and emotions that you seem to suffer, i.e. feeling down about yourself and emotionally criticizing and beating yourself. Such feelings aren't healthy and can over time take their toll. If with time you struggle to overcome this, it's probably best you talk with your doctor. Take his/her advice, but mention and discuss the possibility of Cognitive Therapy.
There were times when I felt like that, but it got tiring,so I swam naked in a private pool by myself.
Just think of it this way, even if you are ugly, then you filter out talking to people who are plain shallow who may swap you for someone better looking and actually meet genuinely nice people.
