Is it normal to imagine yourself in a movie?

After watching a movie or while reading a book, I often imagine myself as the main character or a side character. I like to put myself in the shoes of a character and feel the emotions of a specific powerful moment. Is this a normal thing to do? Do other people do it? If so, for what movies/books?

  • I never would have thought that people who read the bible would imagine themselves in it... now that I think about it I guess it is a book/story like any other, so it is not so surprising.

I do it all the time. I'm always making up stories in my head.

I like Harry Potter alot, I would always be Hermione and I liked to think about how I would have responded to different situations. Otherwise I'd make up my own character and just imagine being in the background of the main story, with an outsiders perspective.
    Avatar is also nice :D

    • Harry Potter is an easy one to imagine yourself in! With all the magic and adventure! I like to imagine myself as Hermione or Luna. And also for how I would respond to different situations too.

Well, that's what books are supposed to do!

When I read the Bible, I did the exact, same thing. In that case, I knew it was all fiction.
