Im not sure when the whole hugging everyone thing started but im not a fan of it, completely. I dont mind family and GREAT friends, but i dont like acquaintances doing it to me. Im sure im in the minority and need to lighten up, but im just not a big fan of it.
some people just hug without consent, obviously 2 close friends, if you are becoming closer in the bond then hugging is fine whiuch usually happens when you meet up with them and ur like "heeeyy *hugs*"
I think my world would seem a lot brighter if my friends greeted me with a hug every time. As long as they're okay with it, then I don't see any harm. I do know that some cultures put a lot of respect in physical contact and personal space, so obviously don't assume someone's okay with it.
As long as you ask first, you're normal and not a cunt. Although, it is normal to be a cunt, since humans suck.

It's absolutely okay! Though, be sensitive to people who are shakey, nervous, or sensitive... Because when I'm anxious and someone touches me, I almost jump a mile! And I always like to ask my friends their "hug preference" and ask before I hug someone I'm not use to hugging... :)
It's an extremely hazardous habit these days. All you need to do is piss off one of your friends and you'll find yourself either talking to the cops, or trying to defend and explain yourself on social media, and we all know that _never_ works.
Accept hugs if you wish, but never initiate them, and make sure your contact is always limited to shoulders only and it only lasts a moment.
I give hugs depending on the moment. Especially when I meet old friends after a long time, or during a celebration when I have to congratulate someone.
Seems to depend on location. I was never a hugger, nor were people around me for most of my life. Then I move to the East Coast and huggers are everywhere. I’m ok with it, but it took some getting used to.
Human contact is an amazing thing. It releases endorphins and you can kinda just feel the love and warmth from a hug, at least I do.
