I have taken a dump while at school probably less than 10 times in my life. Peeing is much more common, but I think she is normal. She just has a good bladder or something. I bet she explodes when she gets home though...
I did that when I was in highschool. Although it didn't feel like holding it in as it became routine to use the bathroom before and after school.
I know nothing about people, but my beloved puppy-dog got a kidney infection from having to hold her urine too long. Many years later, her kidneys began to fail and she eventually passed away from renal failure. I don't know if her renal failure was directly related to her kidney infection, but her kidney infection was most definitely related to her holding her urine too long.
I'm not suggesting that your friend holding her urine will kill her! :D But I am suggesting that there is a *possibility* that holding her urine too long could *possibly* cause her kidney damage over a period of time.
I would urge your friend to ask her family doctor if this is safe.
My grandmother would never use public restrooms and would hold it all day. Later in life: cystitis. Which I believe is like chronic urinary tract infections. They are torture.
It is bad for you as the urea is waste that you need to excrete from your system. When no more urea can be absorbed and the fluid goes round the loop of Henley again, it seeps back into your bloodstream.

I have no clue what the washrooms in my middle school and primary school looks like.
Always go before school, and immediately when you go home. Limit fluids, as long as you don't feel light-headed then you're okay to do this unless it's a really hot day. Then, release as soon as you get home.
Personally, I find this is too much hastle. I just use the school toilets, and I soon get used to the smell.
It depends how long you hold it in. Tell her not to pee all over her pajamas!
