Is it normal to hear things that aren’t there from lack of sleep?

So this kinda started when I began college, and one time, I had pulled an all nighter, and for some reason, I thought I heard one of my roommates calling my name from outside my room. I went out, but there was nobody there, and when I questioned them about it in the morning, nobody knew anything about it. This happans to me once in a blue moon, but with different sounds (tv static, alarm clock, etc.) and every time, there’s no rational explanation for it. Is this a mild form of schizophrenia or something? Does this happen to everyone?

Normal. Just brief audio hallucinations. They can happen when you lack sleep. Probably the brain trying to enter dream mode.

Normal, and so is seeing things which aren't there if you're sleep deprived

If you really want to experience sounds and things moving that are not closed to be. Go get a ball of food stay up for 5-6-8 days. You will be hearing and seeing shit you ain't never seen before. I'm talking like telephone poles dancing in front of you driving down the road. I don't recommend it.

I remember drying my hair, and thinking I was hearing the phone ring in the background. Then I would turn off the hair dryer, but the phone isn't ringing.
