Is it normal to have your period for almost 3 weeks?

I'm 18 and I've been having regular periods since I was 12. This last period just won't go away. This is the 18th day I've had my period. It's not heavy bleeding or anything, and I feel fine, it just hasn't stopped yet. Is this normal?

And before you ask, there's no chance I could be pregnant or have any kind of disease.

    This has actually happened to my friend and her doctor gave her birth control to control her bleeding. It's nothing serious.

    Go to the dr to make sure you're ok but it's usually normal.
