Is it normal to have trouble swallowing pills/medications?

Could always shove it all the way back with your finger...i only do that when i don't succeed at the first attempt which leaves the pill tasting funky.

The trick is to fill your mouth with water first then drop the pills in your mouth and swallow. I call it the toilet effect. Think about it, you wouldn't shit in a toilet then add the water.

Until I went on Celexa recently for anxiety I could never swallow pills right. It was hell at first getting used to it, but after a few days they slide down as easy as anything!

I have never been able to swallow pills. I still can't. I try every time in the hopes that I'll be able to one of these days, but I never can. This is a real pain in the ass because instead, I melt them on a spoon, swallow them, and then wash them down with some juice. No matter what medication it is, it never fails to taste like absolute shit

...not to mention the fact that when I'm in the breakroom at work and have to take my meds, melting pills on a spoon doesn't exactly look...good. Man, the looks I've gotten, haha.

Depending on the coating, some can be chalky and stick. Have a sip of water first to wet your mouth and throat and have another sip right after putting the pill/s in your mouth.

i don't understand how some people take pills without water. that can actually be dangerous if the pills are caustic (such as aspirin)

For the longest time, I had a problem with swallowing pills... I just couldn't do it. Instead, my mom would crush the pills and put them in yogurt for me to eat, and I have to say... they were freaking nasty. I think I just continued practicing swallowing pills with water, and eventually I managed to do it.

It's a lot better than crushing them and eating them, that's for damn sure.

I have to take medications everyday and the pills get stuck in my throat every once in awhile. It's annoying but I'm thankful that I can always manage to swallow them in the end.

Tilt your head back completely, then swallow.

It's easier for me when I swallow pills with juice. I have a hard time every once in a while though.
