At various times in life I have had to learn to live very frugally on a small amount of money. One thing I would do is learn how to be creative with rice and buy a 20kg sack of rice (lasts months) and buy super cheap vegetables near the end of the day at the fruit and veg markets. The ones that might get htrown out otherwise.
And if possible try to grow some easy to grow things like spinach and other greens even in pots if you have no room.
Friends also used to go dumpster divign for free food.
Is it normal to have trouble affording food?
