Is it normal to have to wear bandaids on your feet with new shoes?

I always have to wear bandaids anytime I am breaking in a new pair of shoes! I can't tell if my feet just get blisters really easy or what!

The new pair of sperrys topsider style "boat shoes" I got last weekend has been rubbing the bare skin on the backs of my heel raw so I've just covered both my heels with bandaids and I've been having to wear bandaids every day this week while I'm breaking these shoes in!

I'm just wondering if everyone else thinks this is normal?

I have had to do this with new Doc Martens. They last forever and I but a pair every 10 years. But man, that first week or two, they really chew up my feet and I have to wear Band-Aids. It sucks!
