Is it normal to have this view of philosophy?

Basically, I've come to the conclusion that I don't have my own philosophy because I disagree with the idea of it. Which, in and of itself, is absolutely ridiculous. For me, philosophy is another way for unintelligent persons to gain recognition and be praised for being 'intellectual'.

In summation, I have the philosophy that philosophy doesn't matter and is futile. An extreme paradox for all my fellow IINs.

I know I contradict myself, but, I can't help feeling this way.

Does anyone else think this way, or disagree with the concept of philosophy to my degree? Or am I just the odd-man-out.

    I think Philosophy is a great venue to go in to if you want to organize your thoughts, views and beliefs about the world.

    Well I agree with you on philosophy. Here is the problem philosophy has made absolutely no progress in the last 2700 years and in the next 2700 it probably won't either. You are wrong about one thing though and that is philosophers being unintelligent. If you are studying a philosopher outside of the ancient ones it is a near guarantee that outside of philosophy they made amazing contributions to a science or Mathematics look at pascal Descartes Kant. Most philosophers who are still taught had iqs over 150

    I like philosophy, although it can bother me sometimes. Like you can tell when a person is actually smart and has an interesting view on something or they are just trying to be philosophical and end up sounding kinda cliche and cheesy. Maybe that is what you recognize an unintelligent person wanting recognition.

    I'm not sure I understand your comment, but I don't agree that philosophy is a way for unintelligent people to gain recognition, even though some do spout the works of others to try to make themselves sound smarter.
