Is it normal to have this problem with texting?

Okay, so my problem is that I get really awkward when it comes to texting. Lately, whenever I get a text from someone, I can't hold the conversation very well and usually can't think of anything to reply with (no matter how simple the person's message is), and I'll literally sit there staring at the screen for like 6 minutes freaking out about what to say. I don't exactly remember when this started, but I never used to be like this. Is this normal?

    Sometimes I get awkward with texts too. Maybe because it's not a real in person conversation where you normally respond instantly, and likely more genuinely without as much opportunity to self-edit as you have from behind a phone. I usually prefer to call people if I'm not coming off straight with txts. Try calling more if you can, or like.

    Sometime I do the same thing lol.I look at a text message and sometimes I don't know what to say

    Be natural and don't try to think too much about it. Ask yourself, what would I say if this was a face to face conversation?
