Is it normal to have this issue with Feminism?

  • Unfortunately there does not appear to be a reply button on the mobile version of IIN.

    That being said, no one owns the 'rights to equality.' I suppose it depends on a individuals belief, but to my knowledge feminism was organized to be a group that supported equality, and sought to end the oppression of women. In fact, if you were to look up the definition of feminism it goes as followed:

    "The advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men."

    • I apologize. I've never used the mobile version of the site, so excuse my ignorance.

      Maybe it was the group's original intent, however we cannot judge a group in present day by their ways of the past.
      I never liked the "definition of feminism" argument. Feminism is an ideology, it has theories, literature, beliefs, and so on. A more rational explanation of what a feminism would be a group that believes in feminist beliefs and theories of female oppression. I personally believe the definition of the word is due to political correctness doing its part.
