in fact, depending on the state, that may count as statutory rape

    • Yeah, that's probably not even statutory rape, but a worse crime.

There is a recent case in Texas over something like that, but it involved a lot of guys and one girl over a long period of time and all the guys are in trouble no matter what their age. She was 11 or 12.

      • Again it depends on the state

        http://www.cga.ct.gov/2003/olrdata/jud/rpt/2003-r-0376.htm

Some states DO set the limit at 16 & older for being able to be convicted of statutory rape.

Some even allow for convicting children under the age of 16, if the victim is over 3 years younger.

What is perhaps ironic is what some states legally define as rape, others define as age of consent. For example, in AK it's sexual assault if a 20 year old has a sexual relationship with a 16 year old. But in Hawaii that would be perfectly legal (the age of consent drops to 14 as long as the older partner is within 5 years of age).

So yes, this could easily be a rape case. In fact with a 6 year age difference and the younger partner only 10... to me it IS sexual assault. Even if it bothers those who engage in it
