At least you have a grounding in reality and enough rational thought to realise how bizarre your parents' beliefs are. I'd say respect their right to believe in mermaids, aliens and the magical healing power of weed as long as they respect your right NOT to believe in any of that.
They probably aren't going to change their minds as long as they live, certainly not through any debate you have with them, so grit your teeth and do your best to tolerate them when they start spouting rubbish :P
