I used to be a bit of a sociopath (sp?) too, but having a kid really changed things for me. I-AM-NOT suggesting you reproduce to fix your problems. I'm just sayin, parenthood's a pain in the ass but seeing that look (parents know what I'm talking about) on my kids face makes me wanna go to the moon to make her happy again. So now all of a sudden I get why it's worth caring. I think it's because she's like in the same category as animals for me... mentally I mean... like she's too innocent or unaware to have any intention to piss me off. If she's crying it's not cuz she's pissed, it's cuz she's not feeling well or something. Who knows if things will change when she hits her teens... I think it probably takes 15 years of love to pull you through the 4ish years of teenage shithood kids put you through.
Is it normal to have no sympathy.
