Is it normal to have no common sense?

So my whole life I have never been able to make a decision on the spot. My thinking is slower than most and my vocabulary is very low. I'd say I have about the intelligence of a 3rd grade but even then a 3rd grader has some common sense. I have no insticts. I only act on what I know from experience. I feel like the biggest letdown because I dont know how I will be able to take care of myself as an adult and I am extremely scared. I've been wondering if I should just end it all. Im 18 btw

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Maybe you’ve got problems with ur concentration, anxiety or r being held back by urself and/or others
I think that comes from somewhere but can be resolved, I’ve had the same and it sounds like exactly the same
Like crossing the street is a difficulty, opening doors, hell even walking in front of ppl. And u can’t really tell othets cuz u think they’ll laugh at ya or something. The decision thing can also be easily explained and I’d say u go and talk to someone about your problems and insecurities. Then you can slowly go forward and learn how to survive on your own, even if you think it’s not gonna work
Also again, ur 18, now you’re just being thrown out into the deep water with like one swimming lesson.

Try not to worry about it. You're only 18, you haven't had much life experience yet. When you do then you'll learn a lot more wisdom than can be gained in a classroom. I was an idiot at 18.

Also if you really want to improve your vocabulary you don't have to study, all you have to do is read. It doesn't have to be boring intellectual stuff either, it can be fun stuff like Harry Potter or The Lord of the Rings. You'll pick up vocabulary without even trying.

That is normal, you are very young.

you are still young and you will get wisdom as you get older. Suicide is not the answer.

You're probably just being hard on yourself. If not intelligence is easily acquired through learning from both books and life experiences. You can take up studying for example. You're very young too and will get wiser with age. If you struggle with learning you could for sure have some form of learning disability such as trouble focusing, ADD for example. Good news is such conditions can be managed with the right tools. If you suspect something like that you should seek out the help of a professional. Don't give up!

Don't end it all. I've felt the same way. We get one shot. If the worst comes to bear and you wind up broke and homeless it's still better than nothingness. I've been broke and homeless and tbh it wasn't that bad. It wasn't great but I still had fun.

The thing is we are all just trying the best we can. Hang in there. Have faith in God. Trust that it will be ok.

Intelligence of a 3rd grader....then did you write the post or did someone else? Because the post is well articulated.

That's what I was wondering. This post was better written than at least like 75% of posts.
