Is it normal to have no clue what I want to do with my life at 17?

  • They're hypocrites. It's perfectly normal to not know what you want to do with your life at 17. I don't know what I want to do at 27. I have a friend who doesn't know and he's 37. My dad is 47 and he has no idea either...

It's rare people ever figure out EXACTLY what they want to do in life. Most people just simply "settle" for something they can tolerate...

    How dull.

However, you DO need to actually DO something with your life and education and having a job is part of that.

Granted, what you do at first may not be exactly what you want to do, especially if you don't KNOW what you want to do, but building a strong foundation on an education will give you something to fall back on as you keep moving onward in life to find the means and opportunities to discover your "inner calling".

You're 17, you have a long, LONG way to go and the paths ahead of you are nearly endless. Just try a few out and see how you like them, you CAN change them later if you want. For your own sake, please do not "settle" on something for the rest of your life this early on!

Those who are telling you to decide NOW what you are to do for the next who knows how many decades are giving you some REALLY bad advice.

Best of luck in your journey's ahead, trust me, I'm not that far on myself, but they are JUST starting to get interesting!
