  • I have nightmares and night terrors. Up until recently, I had them every night. I would scream or shout and cry and thrash around in the bed. My husband didn't know what to do. I started taking a prescription medication called "Prazosin" and I very rarely have them now!!!! :) This is what my husband does when I DO have them: He puts his arms around me and holds me close to him. He whispers, not waking me, that I am ok and that he loves me, and I am just having a bad dream. My subconscious hears it. He rubs my back or strokes my hair, sometimes he will gently wake me up and then just hold me until I fall asleep again. We are both thankful for this medication it has helped both of us to sleep better! Have her ask her doctor about it. I started at 2mg and now take 6mg a night. It knocks me out about 45 minutes after taking it. I don't feel groggy when I wake up. You both have my empathy, and I wish you good luck!
