Is it normal to have nightmarea about your friends and only them?

I sometimes have nightmares where I am not included but just watching like it's a movie and it is always about my friends.Here is an example: I had a dream where I was from a screen and in the the screen there are my friends struggling to get out of a building where they are trap while trying to avoid a man eating goo(weird I know).

    Dreams are sometimes based on your every day thought. Maybe there is someone trying to join your friend's cirlce, and you and your friends don't want him/her and are trying to avoid that person. i am just being hypothetical though...

      One of my friends who unfortunately just died used to love horror movies where there are cannibals and weird monsters and well the dream may have been affected by him
