It's not abnormal. I got my first crush when I was 8 (I did not have fictional crushes before that time), but not every person is like that. My father and aunt didn't start dating until college.
Your last sentence confused me for a moment. It sounded like your father and aunt waited to date each other until they were in college, unless that actually happened (I doubt that, though).
I'm not here to make fun of you, I just wanted to point that out. I've made errors like that before. I'm sorry if I offended you.
