Multiple personality disorder is called a DIS-ORDER for a reason. It can be very disruptive to one's life. You need the help of a professional, not some guy with a cold looking at an iPod.

  • I used to have a couple "personalities". One of them is pretty studious, cares about his academics, and associates with intelligent people. The other one, I don't like him very much. He used to come out all the time whenever I thought of anything that got me angry and feeling down about myself, he would come out. When he did, he was horrible, maniacal even. He would start trouble with people, be highly argumentative, drink heavily to the point of near alcohol poisoning, compulsively watch porno, do loads of drugs, and just not give a crap about anything. He did not care what would happen to us and he wanted to get back at "the man". He even said and did some things I still really wish he didn't do. I didn't like him much and eventually he went away as I integrated him into my life. I hated him, I mean I absolutely hated him, he was scumbag and a horrific man. However, I realized that he was an important part of my identity and in some ways he has helped me to realize something about myself that I wouldn't have if it were not for him. I never really told people that I had this other self that would sometimes come out, but occasionally people picked up on me "seeming different" and said things like "what have you become?" and "who are you?" when my maniacal side came out. However, I kept my maniacal behavior in check enough to avoid any serious consequences. We would generally coexist quite well, but sometimes he did not like some of the things that I did and wanted to do, he didn't like at all. That made me hate him at times and eventually led me to trying to integrate him as he was getting to me. But we were never crazy. I wasn't really crazy, and neither was/is he

guys, from another question this person posted, it seems this person definitely has multiple personality disorder. people with this disorder can be aware of it. and get a better idea of it when going to counseling.

Barely over 100 people have actually ever had Multi-Personality Disorder, and few of them remember their "other half", or know it exists. So I doubt that you have it, maybe you just emotional, or bipolar?

My brother has MPD although he's probably very different then you. He has three different personae, two of which are "Normal" personalities and are considered "harmless" but the third is violent. Most people with MPD don't even know they have it. My brother still has no clue he has it and he is 24.

also Schizophrenia has nothing to do with MPD. So no your not Schizophrenic. Schizophrenia is basically being delusional it has nothing to do with MPD. So don't worry about the Schizophrenia. You will be fine.

also one more thing people MPD is not a joke so don't talk to this person like they are some kind of freak. NO ONE IS PERFECT SO DO NOT JUDGE THIS PERSON BECAUSE OF SOMETHING THEY CAN NOT CONTROL!!!

    Multiple personalities, or mood swings?

Sorry, just had to ask. I used to know a girl who claimed to have multiple personalities. It's a long annoying story, but yeah, the only "multiple" she had were moods.

Whatever it is, if you've ever experienced intervals of memory loss, unexplainable anger or epilepsy (among many other symptoms), seek a professional. It sounds like you haven't.

It's called dissociative identity disorder for one. Two, if you mean like you have varying personalities depending on circumstances, then yes, it's normal. However, if what you're talking about are completely separate personalities that take over your mind and body to help you cope with a past experience, then no, not normal. it's also unlikely that your conscious self would realize that you DO have D.I.D., it's usually only the other personality that realizes it.

Yes I know, but I meant that they only said they have ''multiple personalities'', not the disorder.
