Is it normal to have mixed feelings about someone you like?

There's this guy I like, and he shows signs of liking me back, but he confuses me sometimes and it's quite frustrating. Sometimes he's really shy, nice, and there's even times when he's a bit sexual, in a playful way. Then there's other times when he seems a bit rude, he cusses a lot, and there's even been one time where he told me to shut up (I have no idea why that hurt me(?)) So I don't know if I should try and get over him or if he likes me back. I also don't know if I'm the one that gets him upset or he's just having a bad day. Is is normal to have mixed feelings? (He is a Gemini btw)
