  • You will probably find that they pop out when she's close to giving birth. Even if they don't it is still usually possible to breastfeed. It's very rare for a woman's nipples to stop her from breastfeeding - it's just trickier for some than others.

    They are connected inside with scar tissue and it is possible to gradually release it over time using a special device.

    You can also buy a nipple shield which helps women with very inverted nipples to breastfeed.
