I have herpes. I don't spread it around like my slut ex but it's an awkward topic to work around if you're trying to hook up. And I've honestly only hooked up once since my ex and purposefully kept it to just oral stuff, but I feel bad about that, not that it's anyone I've kept in touch with... Look at me writing all this unnecessary stuff when I honestly just wanted to see the reaction this got. Who else got the herps?! Is it normal?

    No I don't have herpes. But there was a very lonely time in my life when I did frequent crack whores. So I realized when I got clean and sober that I was a high risk to spread a multitude of unpleasant diseases. So I had myself tested for AIDS etc. I felt that it was criminal to pass something on to a female that I grew to care about deeply (and eventually marry), and not tell her of the things I had done sexually that might put her at risk. I would ask you to ask yourself: Can I do this to her? Have a good evening.

    What kind of herpes? I know a lot of people carry simplex 1 (oral herps, cold sores), which thankfully I've never had. Or do you have simplex 2 (genital herpes)? You do know that you can spread if to your partner during an outbreak???

    Either way, it's not ethical for you to have sex without notifying your partner of your status...that's a bullshit move.

    Of course herpes is normal if you've been having unprotected sex with someone with herpes, also normal if your ex knew she had it and didn't tell you.

    I don't have it and from what I know about it now, I guess I've been lucky in that respect. I guess you have no choice but to live with it, educate yourself as much as possible about it and be honest with potential sexual partners. You could do what some HIV positive people do and hook with someone else who also has herpes.

    It's more normal than people think, and a little hard to protect yourself from. You shouldn't be a pariah, but do please take precautions and let people know that you have it beforehand.

        There are many medicines and alternative medicines that can help shorten the break outs and make them less intense. You probably already know this.
