I've never been in a relationship or on a date. I remember my silly child self pretending to be in relationships like saying that a grown male camp consular was "my man" and saying that this older boy I liked was "my boyfriend". What on earth was I thinking? I remember being about 13 or 12 and going to summer camp. My friend at the time asked me about boys and if I liked anyone. When I told her that I didn't date and that the reason was because my family wouldn't let me, she was shocked. When I got home I asked my mother why I wasn't allowed to date. I can't remember the exact flow of the conversation, but she told I could when I was about 15. When I was around that age, I asked why I still wasn't allowed to date and she replied that it didn't matter because I didn't know anyone.
I'm sure I was upset and now that I'm older, I don't really care anymore. By not dating, it keeps my personal life and interests to myself and away from my family. Besides, I rarely if ever get crushes on people. I don't know if what your father did was normal, it sounds a little overprotective to me. Did he stop his rules when you and your siblings got to be of a certain age?
Till we both left and I left 18. I have been in relationships. Just have not been on a date. Also I never said I did not have relationships. I just did not go on dates. Age for dating was 15. We still were not allowed let opposite sex friends in the house.
Is it normal to have had a lot of relationships yet only one date?
