Is it normal to have friends that aren't really your friends?

  • They're not your friends, they're acquaintances. They're people you laugh with, have fun with but don't mean anything to you, and neither do you mean anything for them.
Or if they do mean anything to you, you should see things for how they are and stop caring.
True friends are hard to come by, they're people you'll stick with or be in touch with for the rest of your life and will be there for you.

Now, if they really are your friends, it's normal if they sometimes get pissed at you or talk behind your back, but not if they only focus on you.
And maybe you're being paranoid because of what the guy in chem class told you, try to keep realistic and don't make things up if you haven't heard what they were actually saying about you.
Sometimes, walking up to your "friend" and asking him/her what they think about you isn't the worst thing to do, you're probably in for a cold shower and a swollen heart but you'll know what to do and if you are the one who needs to improve.
    Good luck with that!
