Is it normal to have fears of intimacy towards people?

Cause like I don't mind meeting new people and just talking to them, but I have these fears of intimacy towards them and having trouble trusting them cause like I don't them to break my trust and get my feelings hurt cause of the hurt they would cause and I don't want my feels hurt and knowing I can't trust them cause of my fears of intimacy towards them. So I'm just wondering is it normal?

I’d say not, u have some trust issues anyway. There is a range of what of that is still normal and what isn’t. It’s healthy to have a certain mistrust with people because well, humans, but as soon as it starts bothering u a lot try working it out some way or don’t let it get worse. People have problems, people lie, people all have their own lives and somewhere there are always some that don’t entirely betray u. Give it some time, give it some fate.
U can’t get into any close relationship, eh? Ever had one?

Yes I did for I had a 13yr long friendship with a very close friend who broke and hurt my heart and feelings by saying our whole friendship was a lie and how he doesn't need me any more stuff like that, and it absolutely hurted me so.

Question OP: Why is it when the longer you know someone, the worse the relationship?

just do what I do & always assume the worst in people, that way you're never disappointed when you're proven right that the're pieces of shit, only surprised if you're proven wrong & the're decent people.
