Your problem is that you see your friend as a 'boy'.
He is not.
A 'boy', is a pre-pubescent male.
He is no longer a child, he probably is an adolescent male. Biologically, he is an adult, but he is not yet mentally mature.
Same goes for 'girls'. Please discontinue referring to yourself as one. A 'girl', is a pre-pubescent person of either sex, and is sometimes offensive in usage.
Both the mature adults, and youths, need to stop listening to a few religious fuddy-duddies, who still think 21 year old people are 'children'.
