  • I hated it and I like to think of myself as a veteran when it comes to literature. Saying that though I'm not a teenage girl so I don't really fall into the target audience. Most of the characters were so unbelievable that it just drew me out of the story.

    • I appreciate book series like Harry Potter and the Hunger Games because I see them as a young person's gateway into decent literature. They're by no means highbrow stuff (I call them "Hollywood literature"), but they're not mind-numbingly stupid either, and they're exciting enough to keep an otherwise easily-distracted teen engrossed.

The unfortunate thing is that the threshold for quality is just getting lower and lower. Case in point: Twilight, 50 Shades of Bullshit, etc. Stupid sells well, though...

      • I'm sick of hearing about 50 shades of grey, it is so poorly written I'm surprised it was even able to get published. I read a fair bit of women's erotica and it just doesn't measure up against the top books of the genre.
