  • OCD (it could be a symptom of this, no, OCD isn't just obsessive handwashing). OCD is characterized by obsessions, that is disturbing thoughts that do not remit or do so only with great difficulty, usually after a "ritual" that one has been "compelled" to engage in is performed. Handwashing is one such ritual, arguably the most common. Hence, OCD is "obsessive-compulsive" disorder. See a psychiatrist to determine a course of treatment, which doesn't typically involve drugs.
