Is it normal to have an irrational fear of men

I'm pretty much the same. Even when I go to see a doctor about something, I feel nervous enough seeing a male doctor (apart from one) but if I have to get an examination on more personal body-parts, I'd ask for a female doctor every time. And I even find it awful having a male dentist too. As for other situations, I feel nervous around all males who aren't family. I guess its just the way some people are. Although sometimes the person is afraid of males because of an unpleasant past experience concerning a male. But it doesn't matter either way, because there are loads of people who feel afraid or nervous around males, even more than you think. So you're not alone, I can assure you.
